Is Holiday Party Photography For You?

Sechrestphotos captures many holiday parties.

We photograph corporate parties which generally are on weekdays during December. We also cover family parties which occur right up to January 5th.

Corporations want photography to provide their employees images of themselves when they are dressed up and socializing outside of their work environment. Often companies hire us to also provide a memento image, printed and framed and provided timely during the party.

The images may be shared on company websites which allow employees to comment and download easily.

Corporate holiday parties are often at hotels or simple venues that are centrally located to the employees.

Families often use photography at their holiday parties when families are together; often out of town guests who haven’t seen each other in a long period of time, or aging families are in attendance, and families want to capture the “family moments.”

These images are often very valuable and cherished over time.

Family holiday parties are often at a family member’s residence but sometimes at a centrally located venue.

We love what we do and we won’t miss a moment. Call us to schedule us for your Holiday Party.

Surprise Proposal in Rancho Palos Verdes is very Romantic!!

When Miles contacted Sechrestphotos to photograph an

up-coming proposal to Erika, Alan knew I would be excited.  It seems there is never enough romance to satisfy for me to witness.  Miles and his family included his girlfriend were spending the weekend in Rancho Palos Verdes and Miles thought the romantic bluff setting would be the perfect time to propose.  Miles is 24 and is 26 years old.  They have been dating for about 1 year.  Miles told us Erika was very private and the location we had to scout out would need to be secluded.  He wanted some props there to add to the magic.  Alan suggested we have her favorite song playing and we prepared a beautiful heart in the sand enclosed with beautiful long stem roses.    The planned time would be sunset.

Alan found the spot and through texts and emailed communicated to Miles.  We arrived early and met Miles’s father who went with Alan to the spot.  Erika had no idea what was coming and the timing was delayed because she was taking time to ready for dinner with the family.

The plan was to have her song playing and as she approached the scene she would say something to Miles about the song then see the heart and Miles would be down on one knee.

It was exactly as planned (that doesn’t always happen).  Erika was in tears an Miles was very happy.  Congratulations to Miles and Erika please see some pictures at Sechrestphotos from this beautiful magical proposal.

Family Portrait Photography Provides a Family with a Photo Historical Memory with Real Meaning!

When I was hired recently to capture a family portrait with 31 family members including the beautiful matriarch grandmother who is 80 years of age; I knew I had to organize the family and be quick to ‘capture the moment’.  What I recommended to this family was light colors with a matching theme and for Grandma to wear something special.  A few things I recommend:

  • Pick a good time of day for the light.
  • Choose a location that will have a memory for the family and provide a good background.
  • Have some props to keep the small children interested.
  • Think out of the box.

Sechrest Photos provided an amazing 30 x 40 canvas for the the family.  I had it ready for Thanksgiving when the family would be together to present to grandma.

The entire experience was rewarding for me as a photographer because the family were real nice and the camaraderie between them was inspiring.
